This morning was the first workout for TFC. Yeah - 5am is early but we put some work in, and we are ready for next week. We had 12 runners come out for our first workout (plus one baby and one dog). So, we were pretty stoked about the turnout. That being said, the ladies ruled the morning. So - men, get out of bed and join us. We doubt Nick (and Ruger dog) want to be the only men there.
Our workout was a 20 minute fartlek of 2 minutes hard/2 minutes easy + warm up and cool down. So, we did 5 surges and that proved to be just the right amount for the first workout.
The plan for next week is to do a longer workout with 3 minutes hard/1:30 easy + warm up and cool down. After that, we'll be looking at tempo runs, repeats, time trials, and hill work.
Our runners are training for a variety of races including: Havin' A Crappie Day 5k, Illinois Half Marathon, Go Girl Half Marathon, Frisco Half Marathon, Laclede County 4-H Run for the Clover, MercyMe Run, KC Half and Full, Great Circle 5k, Bass Pro Half and Full plus many more!
We are hoping to find a race that we can attend together as a group over the summer as well. So, let us know your thoughts and where you would like to race.
So, if you're ready to put in the work and nail your PR, get out of bed and join us at 5am on Wednesday mornings.

Each week, we notice different things. We try to incorporate the questions we are receiving or the training issues we are noticing into our post(s) for the week. If there is something you'd like us to cover, let us know!
